Other Stuff Going On

As the Soul fans sit and wait for the Chris Jackson announcement and the remainder of the roster to firm up we'll turn our attention to other interesting AFL stuff.
Along with some player salary tweaks and revising the DGR Salary Cap numbers (which aren't used) there were some interesting revisions to the CBA. Here's some points to ponder:
The CBA has been extended through 2015. Either party (league or players) can terminate the agreement after 2012.
Franchise players can now have 5 year contracts (up from three years).
The AFL has the immediate right to add two (2) more games to the regular season schedule.
Up to three (3) af2 players can be signed to AFL player contracts. These players can be added to the AFL team at any team. They will not count against the 24 man roster or cap until added.
The AFL has the right to add an additional Bye Week to the regular season schedule.
Some pretty heady stuff when you stop to think about it. Why would you want to and what would it take to add another game or another bye week to the schedule.
